Thursday, March 25, in the University Senate Room, the Honorary Professor of "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University degree will be conferred upon Prof. Dr. Nancy Ide, from Vassar College, USA, for her distinguished career and impressive activity in the field of computational linguistics and natural language processing, among which elaboration of theoretical frameworks for the definition of standards of linguistic annotation, creation of large corpora, proposal of models for word sense disambiguation, as well as for the long and fruitful collaboration with our University in the scientific planning of the EUROLAN series of summer schools on natural language processing.
