Abstract

It is a great honour and pleasure for us to give this tribute to Professor C\u alin Petru Ignat. We have been highly priviledged to work closely to Professor Ignat. He has dedicated his life and passion to a 50-year long career focused on pioneering and development of Computer Science in the {\sl Al.I.Cuza} University of Ia\c si. Dedicating himself to the general welfare of the faculty and students, Professor Ignat expended almost all of his non-scientific time on making possible a scientific environment within which, both faculty and students, were enabled to thrive in their intellectual and professional pursuits. No member of our faculty has contributed more to the strength, the quality, and the overall well-being of Computer Science community.
